Dr. K. Vengadakrishnan is the Professor of Medicine in SRIHER, Chennai. He is a visiting Senior Consultant Physician and Diabetologist in SIMS hospital. He is the perioperative care physician of AJRI. He did his M.B.B.S from Calicut Govt. Medical College, Kerala and M.D. (Internal Medicine) from G.R. Medical College, Gwalior, M.P. He completed his PG Diploma In Diabetology from Annamalai University. He is the Fellow of International Medical Sciences Academy (FIMSA). He is the expert medical committee member for TN Government guidelines on COVID-19 and Systemic Hypertension.

He has 19 years of experience and is actively involved in UG and PG training. He had worked as a resident in the Department of Emergency, AIIMS, New Delhi. He was a Consultant Diabetologist in MMM Hospital, Chennai. His areas of interest include Diabetes Mellitus, Infectious diseases and Adult Vaccination. He has 34 publications in indexed journals (National and  International). He has authored 4 chapters in API update. He has completed six trials as Principal investigator.

Holistic patient care has been his strength. Comprehensive patient care is the need in a corporate hospital at present and the concept of perioperative care physician in AJRI was devised in view of the above. All medical issues of the patient will be addressed as a whole by him and specialist opinion is taken when it is mandatory. This helps in early identification of critical issues during hospital stay, early treatment and minimizing complications.
