Dr. Kalaivanan Kanniyan is a consultant orthopaedic surgeon in Arthroplasty & Adult Reconstruction unit – AJRI. He did his MBBS from Government Medical College, Tanjore and M.S Orthopaedics from Government Medical College, Patiala. He did his Senior Residency in University college of Medical Science (UCMS, Delhi). He got trained in Computer Navigation Joint Arthroplasty in Bombay at HOME – Hiranandhani Orthopaedic Medical Education. He did his fellowship in Revision Hip & Knee replacement and One stage septic revision at Helios Endo-Klinic, Germany. He had further fellowship training in Musculoskeletal Infection & Orthopaedic Oncology at Queen Mary Hospital, University of Hong Kong.
Dr. KK has many National & International publications in various orthopaedic journals. He has written chapters for textbook of Orthopaedics on Bone infection & PJI. He has many paper and poster presentations at various National & International Conferences.
He has been a part of several Live Surgical Demonstrations and teaching modules across the country. His current practice focuses on Revision Hip and Knee replacement and Periprosthetic Joint Infections (PJI). He is keen in establishing a successful “Bone Infection & Oncology Unit”.
